General notes for performances at our various venues:

*Parents may pick up their dancer from their dressing areas ONLY after the bows for each part.

*The auditorium opens 30 minutes before performance times.  It is suggested you purchase your tickets before the performance day so that you can go right in to the auditorium without stopping at the ticket counter.

*Absolutely no food or drink in  the dressing areas or auditorium. (Bottled water is ok in the dressing rooms).  You may eat outside in the areas around the venues.  No eating in costumes.

*Dancers should arrive through the cast door, not through lobbys.  DANCERS SHOULD NOT WEAR COSTUMES IN THE LOBBY!!

*Audience enters the auditorium through the lobby area.

*Hair in SLEEK bun for girls, or for very short hair, tucked behind ears & clipped - no bangs. The dancer’s  entire face should be seen.  Use generous amounts of gel and hairspray on damp hair - washing hair the day of performance is not suggested - easier to make a bun with the hair less fine.  Hairnets and hairpins (rather than bobby pins) make it even easier.  Please spray whispies down - stage lights “find” every little hair!

Brush hair well back away and up from face and apply gel -  Make a ponytail with a hair elastic, twist the hair and then wrap it around the elastic, hairpinning as you go around in a circle; add a hairnet and pin with a few more.  Finish with even more hair spray - voila!

*Make-up: heavy blush and lipstick in a red or  berry color; dark eyeliner, top and bottom of lid; brown or gray eye-shadow (dramatically applied); mascara if tolerated. (Older girls could use fake eyelashes).  See our make-up diagram posted in our studio lobby, ‘google’ basic stage make-up tutorials on the web, especially www.modedion.com,  or watch the make-up dvds available in our studio lobby, or see the make-up book also available in studio lobby.

*Of course, no flash cameras, no video cameras, and cell phones turned off (including refraining from taking cell phone photos).  Please respect others with quiet voices - their child may be on stage and you would want the same respect!  If you must leave the auditorium during the show, go to the far outside end of your aisle toward the side walls so that you won’t be in the dvd!! (The videographer is set up at the back of the auditorium/balcony.)

*If you have any questions at all, please e-mail:     jmadison@madisondance.com

or studio phone, which goes directly to Ms. M.’s cell phone:    478-475-0440
