General notes for performances at Zuver Center:
*Parents may pick up their dancer from their dressing areas ONLY after the bows for each part.
*The auditorium opens 30 minutes before performance times. It is suggested you purchase your tickets before the performance day so that you can go right in to the auditorium without stopping at the ticket counter.
*Absolutely no food or drink in the dressing areas or auditorium. (Bottled water is ok in the dressing rooms). You may eat outside in the areas around the Zuver. No eating in costumes.
*Dancers should arrive through the cast door - the double glass doors next to McAuley Hall (gym) on Appleton Avenue. DANCERS SHOULD NOT WEAR COSTUMES IN THE LOBBY!!
*Audience enters the auditorium through the lobby area, which faces into the campus of Mount de Sales, through the breezeway between the Zuver and McAuley Hall.
*Hair in SLEEK bun for girls, or for very short hair, tucked behind ears & clipped - no bangs. The dancer’s entire face should be seen. Use generous amounts of gel and hairspray on damp hair - washing hair the day of performance is not suggested - easier to make a bun with the hair less fine. Hairnets and hairpins (rather than bobby pins) make it even easier. Please spray whispies down - stage lights “find” every little hair!
Brush hair well back away and up from face and apply gel - Make a ponytail with a hair elastic, twist the hair and then wrap it around the elastic, hairpinning as you go around in a circle; add a hairnet and pin with a few more. Finish with even more hair spray - voila!
*Make-up: heavy blush and lipstick in a berry color; dark eyeliner, top and bottom of lid; brown or gray eye-shadow (dramatically applied); mascara if tolerated. (Older girls could use fake eyelashes).
*Of course, no flash cameras, no video cameras, and cell phones turned off (including refraining from taking cell phone photos). Please respect others with quiet voices - their child may be on stage! If you must leave the auditorium during the show, go to the far outside end of your aisle toward the side walls so that you won’t be in the dvd!! (The videographer is set up directly front of the sound/light booth at the back of the auditorium.)
*If you have any questions at all, please e-mail: jmadison@madisondance.com
or cell phone: 478-361-9945

FRIENDLY REMINDER - Recital fees, which were due with registration but extendable in some cases to December 1, 2009, are now past due. Dancers’ costumes cannot be ordered in December without full payment (only one order is placed due to the time, amount of work, and detail involved in the process, as well as tax, shipping/handling costs, and the true possibility of non-receipt in time). We will measure in class during the first week of December, and orders will be placed immediately following. Costumes tend to take three to four months for delivery, and photos are made in early April, so early order placement is essential. We also are at the mercy of costume companies, as the later the order is placed, we take a huge chance that orders will not be received in time. Please understand our time restraints and help by getting recital fees in by December 1st. Again, costumes WILL NOT BE ORDERED unless full payment is received by December 1st, 2009. Payments received after December 1st are subject to late fees. Please check with Ms. Madison if you think there may be a balance on account for this. This recital fee is separate from the holiday program’s attire.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Kudos to our alum GREY HENSON, who is choreographing an original dance piece to showcase the talents of the lighting design majors at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. He and two friends (a boy and a girl) are depicting musical notes that have fallen off the musical scale and must find their way back on. What an original idea - but we always knew Grey to be very creative!! Thinking of you, Grey!!
