SUMMER ‘SURPRISE’ 2013 SCHEDULE HERE NOW!:
Summer 2013 ‘Surprise!’ Workshops (so named because each daily class will be a surprise - will it be:
*Ballet? *Tap? *Tumbling? *Modern? *Hip-Hop? *Jazz? *Cheer-Dance? - the possibilities are all fun!
Join us! - 6 weeks to choose from - 1, 2, or up to 6 - 3 days weekly (Monday-Wednesday-Thursday)
Weeks of June 10 - 17 - 24, July 8 - 15 - 22
Pre-Dance (3.5 - 5 year-olds) 5:15-6:00pm ($36 per week)
6-10 year-olds 5:00-6:00pm ($40 per week)
Pre-Teens through Adults Beginning/Intermediate levels 6:00-7:15pm ($45 per week)
Stretch/Barre/Conditioning - ages 10 through Adult 7:15-8:00pm ($36 per week)
MSDE Ensemble Technique & Choreography Series Tuesdays 5:45-7:15 AND Thursdays 5:45 - 8:00pm (by dance card - 2 minimum required - a $100 savings from last summer!!)
All Summer Registration 2013 is FREE!!
Pre-Dance classes consist of creative movement games, songs, pre-ballet, tap, and tumbling, and the 6-10 year-olds also have the addition of cheer-dance and jazz. For our Adults/Teens, a more sophisticated curriculum of ballet, stretch, tap, modern, or hip-hop/jazz - a sprinkling of diverse dance forms to keep and get you ‘on your toes’!

OUR 2013-14 CLASS SCHEDULE! Classes begin Monday, August 12, 2013:
(Subject to additions and changes) Each class must have an enrollment of at least 6 to “make” and to continue.

The Madison Studio offers the most comprehensive dance education in Middle Georgia.
In ascending order, from youngest/beginners to oldest/advanced, (with class level leotard color listed through Ballet Tech levels), and additional offerings:
Pre-Dance - Ages 3.5 - 5 Mondays 5:20-6:05pm (pastel pink) Includes pre-ballet, creative movement, tap, and tumbling
Pre-Dance - Ages 3.5 - 5 Thursdays 12:30-1:15pm (pastel pink) After pre-school and before nap time! Includes pre-ballet, creative movement games, songs, tap, and tumbling
Level I - Ages 5-6: Tuesdays 4:15-5:15pm (raspberry (bright) pink) Includes ballet, creative movement, tap, and tumbling!
Level II - Ages 5.5-7: Mondays 4:15-5:15pm (white) Includes ballet, creative movement, tap, and tumbling!
Level III/IV - Ages 7-9: Mondays 6:10-7:10pm (purple) Includes ballet, tap, and tumbling!
*GEMS - Ages 9-12: Tuesdays AND Thursdays 5:15-6:20pm (any gem-color leotard) Ballet technique and stretching/conditioning for demi-pointe/pre-beginning pointe work. Meets twice weekly.
*RUBIES - Ages 12-Adult: Wednesdays 5:20-6:25pm AND Saturdays 11:00am-12:30pm (red) A continuation of progression in Ballet, pointe, choreography & variations, and stretch. No beginners. Meets twice weekly.
*BALLET TECH - Ages 12 through Adult: Tuesdays AND Thursdays 6:30-8:00pm (black). Highest level ballet, pointe, jumps, turns, variations, choreography, and stretch. Meets twice weekly.
BALLET TECHNIQUE/RUBIES - Ages 12 through Adult: Saturdays, 11:00 am - 12:30pm (black or red) A technique-focused class for improving strength, flexibility, detail, turns, jumps, pointe work (if applicable to dancer) and enchainements (combinations), through barre, centre adage, allegro, choreography, and variations.
*indicates class meets twice weekly, counts as two enrollment groups
ADDITIONAL CLASS OFFERINGS/OTHER DANCE FORMS:
Senior Ensemble, Apprentice, and Junior Ensemble - by invitation only: Mondays 6:30 - 8:00pm (black) - warm-up and ballet/contemporary/modern/hip-hop/jazz choreography for Ensemble members and those cast in MSDE performances. (MANDATORY for Ensemble members) Additional rehearsals will be called as needed, generally Saturday early afternoons.
Modern A/B - Ages 9 through adult: Thursdays 4:15-5:15pm Modern Dance forms, technique, and choreography, with conditioning and stretch.
Modern C - Ages 10 through Adult: Wednesdays 4:15-5:15pm A continuation and expansion of modern technique, concepts, across-the-floor combinations & choreography.
Modern Upper Level - Ages 12 through adult: - by permission of instructor - Tuesdays 5:20-6:25pm. Expansion of higher skill level modern dance technique, concepts, across-the-floor combinations and choreography.
Tumbling - Ages 9 & up - to be announced - beginning to high-intermediate level of Acrobatic gymnastics - mat work including conditioning and stretching to improve strength, flexibility, and quickness. WAIT LIST.
Musical Theatre - Ages 9 & up - Thursdays 4:15-5:15pm Jazz and Tap dance forms with technique, stretch, and conditioning and Choreography to Broadway & film tunes. Much fun!!
Tap I - ages 9 through Adults: Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm Waiting list. Tap technique and choreography for beginning/beginning intermediate levels.
Tap Upper Level: - ages 11 through adults: Thursdays 5:25-6:25pm - Tap technique & choreography- upper level, prior tap experience necessary
Hip-Hop/Jazz I - ages 9 & up - Wednesdays 5:20-6:20pm Jazz Technique and conditioning, with Hip-Hop and Jazz choreography. First-year hip-hop/jazz - beginning level.
Hip-Hop/Jazz B - ages 10 & up - Wednesdays 6:25-7:25pm. Intermediate hip-hop/jazz for those with prior dance education.
Hip-Hop/Jazz - UPPER LEVEL - ages 11 & up - Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm Jazz & hip-hop choreography, with technique & conditioning - PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR
CHEER-DANCE! - ages 6-11 years: Mondays 5:15-6:10pm - our popular offering with Instructor Jayme Hale, MSDE alum & faculty, former member of Jacksonville Jaguars ROAR Dance Team! Includes cheer techniques, tumbling, and jazz choreography. Fun Fun Fun!
CONTEMPORARY BALLET/MODERN - ages 10 - Adult Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm An Upper Level class combining ballet with modern dance forms/styles - by permission of instructor.
JUST BARRE/STRETCH & CONDITIONING - adults, teens, & pre-teens: Saturdays 12:30-1:15pm. Barre/Floor/mat work with a bit of yoga including relaxation time. Beginners welcome. By Dance Card, regular tuition, or family discount.
Ballroom for Big Kids! - Adults & teens - Sundays 4:00-5:00pm, or by private class arrangements with instructors - with team teachers Laura Thomason and Daniel Boudreault.
